review: I've seen Ash before and although that was 9 months ago, they're still playing pretty much the same set, which is a trifle disappointing. I stand at the back for a change and feel my age. (Ash's album, "1977," was named so as that's when they were born.) Yet the energy and the zeal of all the singles rejuvenates (the sci-fi soaraway "Angel Interceptor," the sing-a-long "Girl From Mars," the summer-tastic "Oh Yeah" and the fabulous closing "Kung Fu," etc.) The encores, as last May, treat us to a punk-pop version of Abba's "Does Your Mother Know?" and remarkably, the song's not quite as good as Ash's own racing, burning "Petrol."
